Background: Fifteen years ago the County began work on the Ukiah Valley Area Plan (UVAP). This would be a subset of the County General Plan that would govern development in the unincorporated areas in the Ukiah Valley. A Draft EIR was finally produced for UVAP in Fall 2005 and released for public comment. The Board of Supervisors held two well attended hearings on the Draft EIR.
This is a very important and complicated issue. While work continues on UVAP the County is also attempting to update our General Plan. Several elements in UVAP could become precedents for the entire County Plan.

2) Employers Council Comments on Draft EIR (141KB): ECMC organized a task force of a number of members with extensive professional and industrial experience in various aspects related to UVAP to prepare this 24 pages of written comments.
