Mendocino County Specific Information

Most of these sites (not all) have statewide and national data as well. These are links directly to some Mendocino County data. These links are not repeated in the State and National sections below. To get to this "higher level" data, go the each site's Home Page.

• Quarterly Mendocino County Economic Scorecard: Workforce Investment Board (WIB). Locally produced source of "hot off the press" indicator statistics.
• Mendocino County Labor Market Information: State Employment Development Department.
• Mendocino County Quick Facts: US Census Bureau.
• Annual Mendocino County Report: California Institute for County Government.
• Mendocino County Fact Sheet: FedStats is a portal to numerous Federal statistics. (You'll notice this report is the same as the Census Bureau's "Quick Facts" above. But FedStats has lots of other information not in the Census Bureau's site.
• North State County Reports: Center for Economic Development, Chico State University. Annual publication for each North State County (including Mendocino) covering economy and demographics (Fee Publication).

California Statewide Information

Many of these sources have specific information for Mendocino County as well, including some of the links in the Mendocino County section above.

• State Employment Development Dept. Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages
• State Board of Equalization Annual Report on Taxable Sales in the State
• State Controller - list of publications: State and local government annual financial reports, numerous others.
• Center for Economic Development Links List: A collection of Economic Data Sources, some state, some national, regional, etc.
• Changes in California Counties' Budgets and Staffing: Specific report from the Center for Government Analysis. To receive full report you need to be a subscriber; this is a summary.
• California Business Portal: California Secretary of State - not really economic research, but access to lots of business-relevant information.

National Information

Of course, you can "drill down" to Mendocino or California data in most of these sites.

• US Dept. of Commerce/Bureau of Economic Analysis
• FedStats: Links to around 100 Federal statistics generating agencies.
• FirstGov.gov: Portal to entire Federal Government
• County Business Patterns. This is the main page for the entire country. To get Mendocino, select "California" for state, then "Mendocino" for county. For every county in the US, this excellent source reports how many private sector employers there are, how many people they employ, and how big they are by numbers of employees. This data series extends for several decades in the past.
• US Census Bureau
• Center for Government Analysis: Data regarding state and local government finances in the United States. Paid (quite affordable) subscription required. Lots of specific information on California Counties.
• Economy.com: A major private provider of economic analysis and data.
• FreeLunch.com: Economy.com's portal to thousands of free data sources.
• EconData.Net: Impressive collections of links.
